Where to begin….Michaela is so dang talented & beautiful inside and out! I came across her Instagram through a hashtag as I was on the hunt for a wedding photographer. I am super super picky, almost annoyingly & Michaela’s feed completely shook me and blew me and my husband away. Her talent is indescribable.

I truly felt her warmth and passion for what she does through her pictures and just thought “wow I need her in my life”!!! I was so happy she was available and felt extremely lucky to have her be our wedding photographer. She was so easy to work with. She was so sweet and caring with my kids. and Everything about our experience was a dream! I had zero doubts working with her.

It felt like a best friend was behind the camera and her editing style is just so dreamy, moody and out of this world beautiful. The pictures I possess from Michaela will forever be my most precious possessions. I am forever grateful for her and her amazing talent. I can’t wait to work with her again! Thank you for everything Michaela!!! I still cry every time I look at our photos and can’t wait to frame them all over our home and gaze at them everyday!

Michaela photographed our intimate wedding on June 27th in Buffalo, NY. Choosing Michaela as our wedding photographer was the best decision we made for our day! We met Michaela when we modeled for one of her mentorships. From the day we met Michaela, we knew it was the perfect fit. She was so easy to talk to and we became instant friends! When deciding what we wanted for our wedding photos, we knew we didn’t want anything cookie cutter or cliché. Michaela’s photos are exactly the opposite! Michaela was invested in our planning process from day one. She met with us multiple times before the wedding to talk through our vision and timeline. Michaela was always timely in answering our calls and texts any time of day. She was truly a dream to work with. Our wedding day felt seamless and relaxing. We can’t even begin to say how much we love our photos! Michaela’s talent is unmatched - she is a master of her craft! Our photos are unique, elegant, and truly beautiful. We cannot thank Michaela enough for all of the love and hard work she put into our photos. We knew they would be incredible, but Michaela truly blew us out of the water. I stumbled upon Michaela while looking through instagram for a photographer. She blew. Me. Away. The way she captures love so flawlessly and so genuinely, I knew I had to have her to photograph the most special moments in my life.  She was so excited when we talked on the phone the first time, and it was apparent that this is truly her passion and that she loves what she does.  During our engagement shoot, she made John and I feel so natural and ourselves.  To this day, I still get compliments on these photos and asked how I found Michaela, and they were taken over a year ago!  She has been so wonderful and kind throughout this whole process. Our wedding underwent a lot of changes due to COVID, including location (and state!), and Michaela was super supportive and even excited for the changes.  I was unbelievably thankful that she was able to travel for us, and somewhat last minute.  Our family and bridal parties absolutely adored her and she fit right in - some of the groomsmen even thought she was a bridesmaid!  My aunt thought she and I had been longtime friends for years, because that is just the kind of sweet and genuine person Michaela is. She went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top notch, and the way she photographed our wedding day made all of my family members that couldn’t make it feel like they were right there with us. Going through our gallery instantly brings back all of the wonderful emotions of that day, the one thing that I wanted my photos to be.  Besides the man I chose to marry, picking Michaela was the best decision I could have made for my wedding. I’ll continue to pick her for all of my special moments in life, and I will recommend her to everyone, always.

Choosing Michaela as our wedding photographer was the best choice I made throughout the entire wedding, second only to the person I chose to marry. I have to believe I found her through some force of fate being that she lives in Indiana, I in Montana and our wedding was in California but somehow her work ended up on my Instagram feed and there was truly no looking back for me. The raw, authenticity that came through her photography was unlike anything I had seen or experienced before. I could “feel” her photos and found that I was somehow invested in the love story of each one of her subjects. I wanted that to be how I remembered our guests and our day. 

      Her consultation made me even more confident, as it pertained to my relationship and our love story rather than superficial facts. The more I worked with her overtime, sussing out all the details and priorities leading up to the big day the more excited I was to finally meet her. My entire family fell immediately in love with Michaela which made the silliness of trying to feel natural in front of a camera that much more accessible for everyone. At one point my mom even asked, “can we take her home?!” Her energy is warm and inclusive and miraculously uplifting. Those attributes did not go unappreciated being that the bride tends to spend more time with her photographer on the actual day than anyone else. 

      Not only is Michaela truly gifted behind the lens, she cares about her subjects and their experience. How her couples feel about their photos is her top priority. Months have gone by and people still continue to gush over our wedding photos. The moments she captured and the art she somehow managed to create from our wedding fills me with excitement every time I look at them. Michaela not only exceeded my hopes as far as the actual photos went, having her there with our loved ones added to the experience. She was a dream to work with throughout the entire process, her work is unparalleled, and I have gained a life-long friend getting to know her.

“I feel like most people get that distinct, weird type of anxiety when meeting with a new photographer. I can definitely say that on the drive to meet with Michaela the very first time, I was experiencing all of those emotions. However, when I first met her it was without a doubt an instant connection. She has this crazy comforting, outgoing, and conversationalist personality that most photographers lack… incredibly. She asks you questions, gets to know you, and can easily determine the appropriate genre of your pictures based on your comfortability with the camera. I think the one thing that stuck out the most to me when my now fiancé and I shot with her was not just her goofiness, but the way she captured PURE emotions. She would say to me, “whisper your favorite thing about Tyler in his ear”, resulting in him genuinely smiling or laughing… depending on what exactly I said. “Michaela was recommended to me by a mutual friend who often models for her photos. As soon as he showed me her instagram gallery, I knew she was the one. Michaela was great with communication and the booking process was super easy! We had a nice chat to see if we both would be a good fit for each other, and her vibe and excitement to photograph our wedding made me even more excited. We really wanted an editorial style look to our wedding photos, and her editing techniques really sold us on wanting to choose her before even meeting with any other photographers. Michaela was wonderful! Not only did she show up early to scope out the venue, she even helped me with setting up my tables for the reception, as we only had an hour to get everything ready before we started taking photos. She also was great at managing our time, staying on schedule, and making sure we got plenty of shots throughout the day. Working alone, that can be tricky, but you DO NOT even need a second shooter with Michaela. She is a genius and knows how to use light to her advantage with very little equipment. I think what most stood out for us was how great Michaela is with people. She is so warm and genuine and fits in with any crowd. She is able to gossip with your bridesmaids and can get to know your extended family without an ounce of trepidation. She makes you feel comfortable instantly. Getting the photos back took a reasonable amount of time, and they were already edited! So no back and forth conversations are necessary to get your look just right. Of course, I am sure if we had things we wanted edited she would do them in a jiffy, but honestly, she is so talented, I doubt you will have any requests. The photos were BEAUTIFUL. My husband said, "I always hate getting my photo taken, as I don't like what I look like in pictures. But Michaela made me look so good!" And I agree completely.
